Walk for the Bu Campaign

One surgery is $4,000.*

Help us give 25 patients access to free surgeries this Fall.

There’s a huge discrepancy in access to neurosurgical care in West Africa compared to much of the world.

KBNF works to change that.

*In collaboration with hospitals, medical professionals and neurosurgeons who volunteer their time and expertise, we can conduct one surgery for about $4,000.

Surgery is free to the patient. This means patients who would otherwise not have access to life-saving surgeries can get the help they need.

Would you consider sponsoring surgery for one patient? Join forces with your friends, so we can reach the goal of providing surgeries to 25 patients this Fall.

Join us:

1. In giving to the campaign

2. Starting your own fundraising team.

3. Joining us for the in-person walk to celebrate the Campaign together.

WHY?

Neurosurgical care is not a luxury; it’s a lifeline.

Every day in West Africa, someone suffers a traumatic brain injury, a stroke, or a spinal injury. Without a neurosurgeon, there’s nobody to perform the surgery that could save a life or preserve a patient’s ability to walk, speak, or see.

In countries like Liberia, there are just two neurosurgeons for over five million people.

When you give to the Korle-Bu Neuroscience Foundation, you’re not just funding equipment, missions, or training.

You’re giving a child with hydrocephalus the chance to grow up healthy.
You’re giving a young father with a brain tumor the chance to watch his kids grow.
You’re giving families hope where there was only fear.

You’re saving lives, sometimes quite literally.

ONE SURGERY? About $4,000.
