There is power in collaboration. When Vancouver Coastal Health approached the Korle-Bu Neuroscience Foundation (KBNF) about the possibility of 500 donated hospital beds, we jumped at the opportunity. But where do we house the beds, so we could prep them for shipping? And how do we load 500 hospital beds onto various containers? What about linens? Our partners and volunteers rallied, from Vancouver to West Africa, to make this project a reality. In a few short months, KBNF shipped 500 beds to four countries: Ghana, Liberia, Nigeria and Sierra Leone. These hospital beds now have a new life thanks to our partners, supporters and volunteers.
