KBNF Board Attends Ghananian Independence Celebrations

Marj Ratel (President) and Brenda MacLeod (Communications/PR, and Equipment Chair) of the KBNF Executive team had the opportunity to attend the 49th Ghana Independence Anniversary Celebrations in Calgary on March 25th. It was hosted by the Ghanaian Canadian Association (GCA) of Calgary.

The night was filled with wonderful events including a message by Dr. John Akabutu. Noted for his incredible contributions to pediatric oncology, Dr. Akabutu is also presently serving as the Alberta Honorary Ghanaian Consul General.



Discussions were also held with Anthony Manful, President of the GCA of Calgary and Keli Tamakloe, President of the GCA of Edmonton.

Both gentlemen are looking forward assuming the role of Promotional Team Leader in their respective areas to raise funds for the Korle-Bu Neuroscience Project.

Marj and Brenda also had the opportunity to speak at 2 local churches, All Nations Church of Calgary and the Ghana Four Square Church. They were received with great enthusiasm and praised for their hard work in helping to make this project a reality.
